Body

Tummy Tuck

Abdominoplasty to remove excess skin and repair separated abdominal muscles after pregnancy or weight loss.

Overview

Where the abdominal wall has stretched, no amount of exercise restores the muscle midline. Abdominoplasty repairs that separation, removes the redundant skin envelope, and re-establishes core support alongside the aesthetic change.

Who it suits

  • Loose abdominal skin after pregnancy or significant weight loss
  • Diastasis (separation) of the abdominal muscles
  • A stable weight maintained for at least six months

The procedure

2 to 4 hours under general anaesthesia. A low horizontal incision is placed within the underwear line; muscle repair and liposuction contouring are usually included.

Recovery

Week 1

Rest, supportive garment, walking gently upright encouraged.

Weeks 2–4

Return to desk work; no lifting.

Weeks 6–8

Core exercise reintroduced progressively.

6–12 months

Scar matures and continues to fade.

Results

Long-lasting, provided weight remains stable and future pregnancy is not planned.
